13th Annual USC Architectural Guild Charrette

The traditional American Dream is no longer desirable or attainable for most people in the United States. Very few can afford a suburban home with a white picket fence, a large backyard, and a car. The resources required to fuel this dream are out of reach for many. For years, the built environment has been molded to support this version of the American Dream. As a result, the current and future generations are feeling left behind.e The goal of this year’s charrette is to reclaim what it means to “live the American Dream.” The team’s challenge is to design a vibrant community in an urban location in Los Angeles that fosters success and happiness for all.
